Children who find themselves in the middle of a high-conflict divorce and maladaptive parenting are experiencing Trauma.
AJ offers professional development and continuing education workshops to professionals within the domestic violence, family law, children's mental health and child protection sectors to further their awareness on the long-term effects of this trauma and what we can do differently to support these children through their experience. She also works with parents in a group -program setting to further support them in how to best support their children.
AJ's approach is deeply rooted in the realms of neurobiological development, childhood trauma research, developmental psychology, attachment research, and is dedicated to being trauma-informed. Drawing inspiration from pioneering minds such as Dr. Gordon Neufeld, Dr. Gabor Mate, Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk, Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr. John Bowlby, and Dr. Mary Ainsworth. Their insights have shaped her perspective and further guide her mission to support children, create awareness and influence systemic change.
